Miles – Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services of Annette Gruber Floyd, age 90, who passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at Comfort Care House under the care of Comfort Care Hospice. She was born May 24, 1925 to John Franklin and Addie Deen Gruber; was a lifelong resident of Appling County and an accomplished seamstress and restaurateur. Mrs. Floyd was a charter member of White Bluff United Methodist Church in Savannah and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Maurice Floyd; four sisters, Dot McGlohon, Willie Wright, Frankie Griffin and Daphna Miles and a granddaughter, Seleta Starling.

Surviving is three daughters, Linda Floyd of Vancouver, WA, Barbara and Oliver Eason and Nancy and Bill Stafford both of Baxley; seven grandchildren, Amalie Roberts, Gabriella Roberts, Francis Jacobus, Floyd Eason III, April Eason, Bobby Turner and Rachel Cantrell; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. from the Miles – Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Allen Rea and Roger Byrd officiating.

Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Sunday.

Active Pallbearers will be Tommy Youmans, Donald Youmans, Zackary Sloop, Zachary Eason, Bobby Turner and Floyd Eason III.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff and residents of the Pavilion, Appling Healthcare staff, Comfort Care Hospice, Dr. and Mrs. Errol Graham, Dr. Teresa Cezar, E.C. Everette, June Bullard, Beverly McMillan, Kansas McMillan, Joyce and Robert Churchville, Reverend and Mrs. Creig Smith, Lisa Pearce, Brenda and Ed Jones, Glenda Crosby, Charles Griffin and the Baxley High School Class of 1942.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 North Rocky Pointe Dr. Tampa, FL 33607 or at shrinershospitalforchildren.org.
