Alice Britt Griffin

Alice Britt Griffin, age 85, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Bacon County Hospital and Health Systems after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, a retired seamstress and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Baxley.

Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, C. W. Griffin; parents, Troy and Ethel Simmons Britt; two sisters, Wanell Baxley and Hazel Royal and two brothers, T. R. Britt and Clinton Britt.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy and wife Tamara Griffin of Baxley; one daughter, Pam Griffin of Baxley; grandchildren, Kris and wife Brittany Griffin of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jennifer and husband Matt Coleman of Baxley, Heather and husband Dillion Griffin of Lake City, FL and Kourtney and husband Mike Papacsi of Port St. Lucie, FL; ten great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Hopkins and Betty Blocker; special friends, Lola "Katie" Wynn and Wilma Jean Johnson; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Baxley with Brother Charlie Thomas, Brother Devin Brandt and Brother Tony Sellers officiating.

Private interment services will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
