Minnie Lee Davis

Minnie Lee Davis, age 102, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. Born on June 29, 1923, in Baxley, Georgia, she was the daughter of H.G. “Cap” Branch and Minnie Lee Carter Branch. She was the ninth of ten children and was blessed with a lifetime of family, faith, and service. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, H.G. “Cap” and Minnie Lee Branch; siblings, Addie Branch, Jim Branch (Marie), Gladys Woodard (Mike), Lorace Branch (Lavada), Elizabeth “Lizzy” Branch, Nora Branch (Olan), David Branch (Lucille), Clennie Branch (Nettie), Winton “Cub” Branch (Doris); her beloved husband, Kelly T. Davis of 47 years; and her grandsons, Eddie Davis and Kelly Edwin Medders. She is survived by her son, Tommy Davis (Jeanette), and her daughter, Lawanda Medders (the late Billy Medders). She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. A faithful member of Spring Branch Baptist Church, Minnie dedicated her life to serving both her church and community. She was a member of the Spring Branch Quartet and church choir, taught Ladies’ Sunday School, served on the church Youth Council, and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) and the Eastern Star. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and she was known as an avid Bible reader and devoted follower of her Savior. Minnie graduated from ACHS in 1942 and worked for Bell Telephone Company and Miller Western Wear before dedicating many hours as a volunteer at Appling Healthcare, where she served as a Pink Lady. She found joy in singing, sewing, gardening, canning, and riding her bicycle. Her warm spirit, friendly nature, and genuine love for people made her a blessing to everyone she met. Above all, Minnie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family, and her servant’s heart. Her life was a testament to God’s love, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has entered her heavenly home and is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” -Matthew 25.23 Pallbearers are Benji Davis, Jonathan Davis, Jeremiah Davis, Jake Barnes, Maverick Barnes, and Nate Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers are the Spring Branch Baptist Church Choir, Hospice of South Georgia, and Jenearl Carter. A funeral service will be held on June 2, 2026, at 1 P.M. at Spring Branch Baptist Church, with Reverend Chip Woodruff and Reverend Ryan Lamb officiating. Visitation will be held an hour before the service. Interment will be in the Carters’ Cemetery. Nobles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and is honored to serve the family of Minnie Lee Davis.
