Nobles Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Johnny Padgett, age 77, who left us on August 16, 2024, at Memorial Health in Savannah. A devoted native and lifelong resident of Appling County, Mr. Padgett was known as a dedicated farmer and a retired carpenter.He had a passion for sports, particularly college football and softball, rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons throughout his life.Mr. Padgett is preceded in death by his loving parents, John Otis and Thelma Wigley Padgett, and three siblings, Jimmy Padgett, Carolyn Stumphf, and Mollie Padgett.He is survived by his cherished wife of fifty-eight years, Nelda Padgett; his two children, Craig Padgett and his wife Donia, and Dana Graham and her husband Jimmy, four beloved grandchildren: Morgan Padgett, Bryce Padgett, Sydney Fordham and her husband Austin John, and Sophie Graham, and his two canine companions, Jed and Max.The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel, where Reverend Robert Wigley and Reverend Stan Taylor will officiate. Eulogy will be given by Morgan Padgett, Sydney Fordham, and Craig Padgett.Mr. Johnny will be laid to rest on the Padgett Farm following the service.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
